'The Storries V'
storage vendor wins ILM Provider of the Year accolade
Pillar Data Systems has been crowned Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) Provider of the Year at The Storage Awards 2008.
The award was presented at a black-tie event held at The Tower of London Hotel on June 5. Storage magazine readers and Pillar customers nominated Pillar for the award and voting commenced on March 31. Up against Pillar were the likes of EMC, NetApp and HDS.
Pillar was awarded the Editor's choice award last year for its Pillar Axiom storage system.
Pillar Data Systems is a leading provider of application-aware storage. The Pillar Axiom is the only storage platform to differentiate performance based on application priority. The system allows administrators to match multiple application characteristics to the appropriate service levels within a single storage platform.
"Pillar proved to be the people's choice this year," said Stuart Leigh, Publishing Director, Storage Magazine. "The voting process took into account the different categories of voters and Pillar achieved a good spread of not only magazine readers, but customers and prospects."
"To win an award at 'The Storries' for the second consecutive year is a brilliant achievement," said Chris Jones, VP EMEA at Pillar Data Systems. "Over the past 12 months we've continued to push the boundaries of the Pillar Axiom and provide customers with a storage system that's cost effective, scalable and easy to manage."
"Earlier this year we launched the Pillar Axiom 500 MC designed to drastically simplify the installation, provisioning and management of storage for mission critical applications. Pillar continues to grow at a staggering rate. We now have 575 systems installed in 16 countries, with nearly 350 customers globally and many more in the pipeline," added Jones.
