The Guarantee
Guarantees in the storage are not new—but a guarantee this substantial is ground-breaking. Pillar guarantees that with your Axiom 600/600MC you will achieve the following utilization, performance, and availability results:
- 80 percent disk utilization: the highest in the industry and double the industry average.
- The single best $/IOP in the industry and the ability to scale performance without utilization degradation.
- 99.999 percent availability, or less than five minutes of downtime per year, per system*.

The Details
Unlike many other storage vendors in the industry, Pillar’s guarantee covers your deployment not just for the first few months, but for a full year. Other vendors cover only specific types of deployments, exclude large database or Exchange deployments, or even specify what types of files can be included in the migration. Or they will specify how you must provision your system or what level of RAID must be utilized. Not Pillar. Pillar guarantees that your system will maintain a minimum utilization rate of 80% with no performance degradation for a 12-month period.. At your request, upon deployment of your new Pillar Axiom 600/600MC, the Pillar Services team will work with you to document your system’s workload, applications and IT environment, agree together on the levels that are appropriate for your system, and help you tune the system to your desired level of capacity, reliability and performance. During the guarantee period, you must subscribe to the Pillar Pulse Service plan, enable the Axiom’s “Call Home” feature that notifies Pillar Services of any issues with your system, and notify Pillar if there are changes to your workload, applications and IT environment. When there are changes, Pillar may suggest adjustments you should make to maintain your guaranteed service level.
If at any time during the guarantee period your capacity, uptime, or performance drops below the guaranteed levels, your Pillar Service representatives will do what it takes to bring your system back up to the guaranteed levels—whether that means tuning work or adding hardware or software.
